| Brief history of our mascot: On a fall day in 1914, the University of Cincinnati Oughts played a football game against the University of Kentucky Wildcats.On the UC lineup was star fullback, Leonard "Teddy" Baehr, whom UC fans adored and hence cheered on using their best jeer against the opposing Wildcats: "They may be Wildcats, but we have a Baehr-cat on our side."
